Amarnath Yatra 2024 To Begin From June 29; Check Registration Process, Documents Required And Guidelines

The Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) has declared the commencement dates for the annual pilgrimage to the revered Amarnath shrine in the South Kashmir Himalayas. The Amarnath Yatra 2024 is scheduled to begin on June 29 and conclude on August 19, as per the announcement made on Sunday. As per the guidelines issued by the SASB, advance registration is mandatory for all devotees undertaking the Amarnath Yatra 2024.

The pilgrimage to the Amarnath cave shrine, situated at an altitude of 3,880 meters in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, holds immense significance for Hindu devotees. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, one of the principal deities in Hinduism, the shrine draws millions of pilgrims from across the globe every year.

Amarnath Yatra 2024 Dates And Registration Process:

-The annual Amarnath Yatra is set to begin on June 29 and will conclude on August 19, 2024.

-Advance registration opens on April 15, 2024, through designated bank branches.

-Pilgrims must register through designated bank branches using biometric eKYC authentication in real-time.

-Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

-Interested travelers should register with a valid Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) issued by an authorised doctor, Aadhar Card, or a government-recognised valid identity card obtained on or after April 8, 2024.

-The registration fee through designated banks for Yatra 2024 is Rs 150 per person.

-Registered passengers must collect the RFID card from designated centers in Jammu and Kashmir divisions before commencing the journey.

-No passenger will be allowed to cross the entry control gate at Domel/Chandanwadi without a valid RFID card.

-The list of designated bank branches, along with the CHC format and authorized doctors/medical institutions, is available on the SASB website.

Amarnath Yatra 2024 Routes:

The journey takes place via two routes: the traditional 48-km Nunwan-Pahalgam route in Anantnag district and the shorter but steeper 14-km Baltal route in Ganderbal district.

Guidelines For Those Going On Amarnath Yatra 2024:

-Obtain a medical certificate from an authorised hospital/doctor in your state

-Ensure your photo is in .JPEG or .JPG format and does not exceed 1MB in size

-Medical certificates must be uploaded in .PDF format during registration, with a size limit of 1MB

-Pilgrims must be aged between 13 to 17 years; individuals younger or older will not be allowed

-Pregnant women beyond 6 weeks of pregnancy are not permitted to undertake the pilgrimage

-Carry the original Photo ID and Medical Certificate while traveling
