The last date to file your income tax return (ITR) for FY (Financial Year) 2021-22 is July 31, 2022. For other taxpayers to whom audit is applicable, the return filing due date is October 31, 2022. An income tax return is basically a document that is filed as per the provisions of the Income Tax Act, reporting one’s income, profits and losses, and other deductions as well as details about a tax refund or tax liability.

HOW TO E-VERIFY INCOME TAX RETURN THROUGH DEMAT ACCOUNT:
Step 1: Go to the e-Filing portal homepage and click e-Verify Return.
Step 2: Then select EVC through Demat account and click on continue.
Note: You will receive an EVC on your mobile number and email ID registered with your pre-validated and EVC-enabled Demat account.
Step 3: Enter the EVC and click e-Verify.
Step 4: Then the return will be verified

Note: EVC through Demat Account option can be generated only if the Demat account added is validated and EVC enabled.
You will receive the EVC on your mobile number or your email ID only if they are verified by NSDL/CSDL.
