PIB Fact Check, known for countering misinformation on Govt. policies/schemes, on Twitter has busted a fake message.
According to PIB Fact Check’s tweet, “A text message with a website link is circulating with a claim that the Government of India is offering free laptops for all students.
#PIBFactCheck:
The circulated link is #Fake.
The government is not running any such scheme.”
Earlier, PIB Fact Check on its official Twitter handle had alerted everyone about an email scam.
The scam happens via an e-mail allegedly sent by RBI. The fraud email claims to offer Rs 4 crores 62 lakhs on payment of Rs 12,500.

“RBI does not send emails asking for personal information,” PIB Fact Check tweeted.
