What to do and what not to do?

– Avoid outdoor exercises.

– Must stay indoors and must wear an N95 mask if stepping out.

– If possible, use an air purifier at home.

– Children should avoid going out to play.

– If you experience any respiratory issues, contact a doctor.

For the unversed, Air Quality Index is a yardstick to measure the quality of air in a given area, ranging from 0 to 500.

While a good AQI ranges from 0-50 and consists of air that is free from toxins, AQI ranging between 51-100 is moderate, 101-200 is poor, 201-300 is unhealthy and 301-400 is severe.

The AQI falling under 401-500 is hazardous. As per aqi.in, prolonged exposure in such an environment can lead to premature death.
