New Delhi: Piaggio has launched a special edition of the Vespa scooter in the Indian market on completing 75 years of the iconic brand. Vespa was first developed in 1946 and was launched in India in April 2012.
“As we are celebrating the value of independence through Vespa 75th, it also embarks Vespa’s journey in India at the time India celebrates 75 years of Independence,” said Diego Graffi, chairman and managing director of Piaggio India.

Piaggio has launched the special ‘Vespa 75th’ in two variants with 125cc and 150cc engine options. Piaggio India said that customers can buy both models from across all Vespa dealerships in the country. The company intends to expand to Tier-I and Tier-II cities with 300 dealerships and 400 motoplexes.
Vespa 75th anniversary variant prices
Piaggio’s 125cc ‘Vespa 75th’ is priced at Rs 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom). On the other hand, the 150cc version costs Rs 1.39 lakh (ex-showroom).
Vespa 75th anniversary model booking
Customers can book the Piaggio Vespa 75th anniversary model by paying an initial booking amount of Rs 5,000 across all dealerships in India. Customers can also book th scooter through the company’s e-commerce website.

The special Vespa 75th anniversary model comes packed with features such as a high lumen LED headlight with centre integrated DRL. The scooter also comes with an adjustable dual-effect hydraulic shock absorber.
Vespa 75th anniversary variant’s specs
The 150cc engine scooter has a front disc brake anti-lock braking system (ABS), while the 125cc offers a combi braking system (CBS) in 125cc. The single cylinder, 4 stroke, air cooled, SOHC, 3 valves engine offers a peak power of 7.30 kW @ 7500 rpm.
