AP Board Exam Latest News: In a relief to the board exam candidates, the Andhra Pradesh government has cancelled the Class 10 Class 12 Board Exams 2021. The state government took this decision on Thursday following the Supreme Court’s tough stance against holding the Class 10 Class 12 Board Exams 2021 amid COVID-19 pandemic.
According to an ANI report, while addressing a press conference Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Adimulapu Suresh said, “Supreme Court had held a hearing on the inter-examinations of the Andhra Pradesh and issued orders to complete the entire process of examinations including the declaration of results by July 31.” He further added that for Andhra Pradesh, it is not possible to conduct the inter exams and declare the results by July 31, 2021, so they have called off the exams.
Incidentally, on Thursday, the apex court of the country directed all the state boards to notify the assessment scheme within 10 days from today. It has further asked the state boards to declare the internal assessment results by July 31, 2021. A PTI report on June 23, 2021, stated that the Andhra Pradesh government told the Supreme Court on Wednesday that it will be able to conduct Class 12 exams successfully as there are no reliable alternatives to assess the state board students. The state government further added that it will tentatively hold the Class 12 examination in the last week of July and the timetable would be issued shortly.
On June 17, the top court was informed that out of 28 states, six states have already conducted the board exams, 18 states have cancelled them, but four states (Assam, Punjab, Tripura and Andhra Pradesh) have not cancelled them as of now.
According to the ANI report, the Andhra Pradesh government in its affidavit before the top court said that experts have been consulted and they are of the view that it will be feasible to hold the examination, hence the state will conduct the examination tentatively in the last week of July 2021.
The affidavit further said that about 5.20 lakh students will appear for the board examination and there would be precautionary measures in place including holding exams on alternate days and allowing only 15 to 18 students in one exam centre. Furthermore, the exam centres will follow social distancing and sanitisation protocols and also one medical officer will be present at the exam centres.
