Assam Board Exams 2021 for Class 10 and 12 would be conducted in objective format over a day or two. AHSEC Class 12 Exams 2021 would begin from July 15 if the Covid positivity rate falls below 2% by July 1.
Assam Board Exams 2021 for Classes 10 and 12 would be conducted only if the Covid positivity rate in the state is below 2 per cent. Speaking on the decision to conduct the examinations, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that the AHSEC 12th and SEBA 10th exams would be cancelled if the positivity rate was above 2 per cent on July 1. Positivity Rate in Assam is at 3.24 per cent at present.
In the event the situation is under control, the AHSEC Class 12 Exams would be conducted from July 15, he further added. The decision was taken to conduct the examinations after discussions of the education department with guardians, students’ organization and other stakeholders. He shared that the response was in favour of conducting exams.
Calling them important examinations, he said, “The matric (class 10) and the higher secondary examinations are important as several empowering schemes like handing laptops and scooties are linked to these examinations.” As for the Assam HS, HSLC Routine he shared that, “The schedule for the examinations will be announced within the next few days but with the rider that the positivity rate in the state comes down to less than two per cent.”
The exams, if conducted, would be only for a day or two and in objective type format. Strict compliance of Covid protocols would be ensured. In case th exams are cancelled, school swould ten conduct evaluation on the criteria which would be accordingly announced by Education Minister Ranoj Pegu.
Assam High School Leaving Certificate examination conducted by SEBA for Class 10 and Assam Higher Secondary Examinations conducted by AHSEC for Class 12 were postponed due to the second wave of the pandemic. The board exams are now expected to begin from July 15.
