GUWAHATI: The union government on Wednesday cancelled CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) examinations for class 10 and deferred class 12 exams due to a sharp rise in COVID-19 cases across the country.
Following the announcements by union education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, the pressure is mounting on the Board of Secondary Education Assam (SEBA) and Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) to take similar steps in terms of High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and HS final year exams respectively.
However, Assam education minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said the government will take decision on it after the Rongali Bihu celebration is over.
“Let the Bihu is over, then we will take decisions on it,” Dr. Sarma told.
