Samsung is gearing up to launch the highly anticipated Galaxy S25 Edge, and new leaks suggest the unveiling will take place in April. The device, expected to be Samsung’s thinnest flagship yet, will be introduced through an online-only event. With a sleek design, powerful specs, and a limited production run, the S25 Edge is set to compete with Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Air. Here’s everything we know so far about the Galaxy S25 Edge.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Launch Date (Leaked)
As per a report from South Korea, the Galaxy S25 Edge will make its official debut in an online-only event on April 16, 2025. While the launch could take place in mid-April, the phone is likely to hit the market in May.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: A Rival To iPhone 17 Air?
Samsung first teased the Galaxy S25 Edge during its Unpacked event in January, but details remained scarce at the time. Now, leaks reveal that the phone could measure as thin as 5.84mm, making it one of the slimmest smartphones ever. Samsung is reportedly trying to beat Apple’s iPhone 17 Air, which is also rumoured to feature an ultra-thin frame.
Despite its slim profile, the Galaxy S25 Edge will feature a dual-camera setup on the back, unlike Apple’s upcoming model, which is expected to have a single rear camera.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Design and Build
Leaks suggest that the S25 Edge will be Samsung’s lightest premium phone in years, weighing less than 162g. It is expected to feature an aluminium frame with a ceramic back panel, which offers better scratch resistance than glass or plastic. However, ceramic can be brittle, so Samsung might opt for a hybrid material – possibly glass infused with ceramic speckles – to keep the phone durable and lightweight.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Specifications
Under the hood, the Galaxy S25 Edge will reportedly be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM. It will run on Android 15 with Samsung’s One UI 7
For photography, the device is expected to feature a dual camera setup with a 200MP primary sensor and a 50MP ultra-wide lens.
Reports indicate the S25 Edge will feature a 3,900mAh battery, which could struggle to support the power-hungry chipset and high-resolution cameras. Additionally, due to its slim design, heat dissipation might be a challenge.
