Mohan Bhagwat To Visit West Bengal For 10 Days In February, RSS Pracharaks Upbeat

RSS insiders say that this time, he will have various meetings with people from every part of the organisation.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat will visit West Bengal for ten days in February. He is scheduled to arrive in Kolkata on February 7. Sources told News18 that he will stay in Kolkata for the first five days and in Burdwan for the following five days.

Mohan Bhagwat visiting Kolkata is not new, but the fact that he will be spending ten days is significant, many believe. RSS insiders say that this time, he will have various meetings with people from every part of the organisation.

From female pracharaks to male pracharaks, Bhagwat will have elaborate meetings with all functionaries of the RSS. Different shakhas will meet him both in the Kolkata region and in the Burdwan region, sources said.

One senior RSS pracharak told News18, “This is obviously a great opportunity that he will be staying five days in Kolkata and five days in Burdwan; it means a lot for all of us. In Bengal, there is constant unrest in society and also in politics. There has been a huge demographic change. Through his visit, we will know how and where we have to work hard and how we can stand up for people.”

West Bengal Assembly polls are scheduled for next year. It’s common knowledge in Bengal that the RSS backed various seats in 2019, which led to good results for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Sources told News18 that on February 16, the RSS chief might hold a rally. What he says from that rally is going to be important, experts said, as in the last few months, their comments have been very interesting. In Jangalmahal and in South Bengal, the RSS has a really strong base now. All eyes will be on what will come out of this grand visit. Senior RSS leaders told News18 that Bhagwat’s 10-day stay is going to have huge ramifications.
