  1. Prioritize Heart-Healthy Nutrition Consuming a balanced diet that is made of whole grain foods, fruits, vegetables, lean meats, and healthy fats will enhance cardiovascular health. Specifically, the Mediterranean diet has been identified as lowering the risk of heart diseases. Minimize the intake of saturated fats, trans fats and excessive sodium which plays a significant role on development of hypertension- a risk factor of SCA.
  2. Commit to Regular Exercise They also enhance the efficiency of the heart and circulation because physical exercise helps to make the heart muscles strong. For instance, the recommended levels of aerobic exercise are at least 150 minutes a week of moderate intensity, like brisk walking, cycling, swimming, and the like.   3. Avoid Tobacco and Limit Alcohol Smoking is dangerous for heart health and also contributes to the probability of SCA. Cessation of tobacco products reduces heart function in a few weeks.   5. Know Your Numbers This requires periodic measurement of blood pressure, cholesterol, and sugar levels in the blood. Hearing abnormalities early enables one to seek help from a doctor.
