The India Meteorological Department has warned that an active Western Disturbance will likely impact weather across Northwest and Central India from the night of December 26, 2024. Under these conditions, rainfall and thunderstorms are expected in Southern India. On the contrary, severe cold conditions will persist in Himachal Pradesh.

Dense fog and Ground Frost alert
Dense fog is expected to engulf isolated areas of Bihar and Rajasthan during late night time and early morning hours till December 26. Moreover, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Chandigarh, Assam, Punjab, and Tripura may experience it till December 27. Ground Frost conditions may affect isolated areas of Himachal Pradesh from December 25 to December 26.
Rainfall Prediction
As per the Met Department’s latest bulletin, light showers along with thunderstorms and lighting are anticipated on December 25. Likewise, Karaikal, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry might experience this on December 25 and December 26. Scattered downpours accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning are likely to occur in Gujarat and Rajasthan on December 26 and December 27.
Other regions like West Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Punjab are forecast to have the same weather patterns on December 27. Madhya Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, West Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Marathwada may get it from December 26 to December 28.

Snowfall Forecast
Isolated to scattered rains and snowfall likely on December 27 and December 28 in the Western Himalayan region. The Weather Department has projected that there is a chance of light snowfall over the higher reaches in Jammu-Kashmir on December 27 and December 28.
Hailstorms alert
Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Maharashtra, West Uttar Pradesh Chandigarh, and Marathwada may receive hailstorms on December 26. Meanwhile, Vidarbha and Madhya Pradesh will get it on December 27 and December 28
