Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) on Monday launched three new services to provide accessible digital and entertainment services to its customers in Puducherry.
Here are the key services:
Intranet TV (BiTV) for mobile
In collaboration with OTTplay, BSNL launched BiTV as a pilot service, offering Puducherry mobile subscribers complimentary access to over 300 live television channels, including premium content. The service uses BSNL’s mobile intranet to provide stable streaming of television programmes, films, web series and documentaries in multiple languages.
“With BiTV, through our partners, BSNL is giving every customer the power to access entertainment on the go, ‘anytime, anywhere’, free of cost, irrespective of the plan they are, making it a perfect alternative to the outdated PRBT systems; by combining cutting-edge technology with top-tier content. BSNL will be one of the first telecom service provider to revolutionize its old PRBT by offering this groundbreaking service,” BSNL CMD A Robert J Ravi said.
“With new BiTV innovation, we’re proud to bring world-class entertainment to BSNL customers across India. Together, we’re unlocking the magic of cinema and entertainment across genres, languages, and regions and redefining how BSNL customers experience digital entertainment in India,” co-founder and CEO of OTTplay Avinash Mudaliar said at the launch event.
The service is scheduled to expand to Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand by January 2025, before launching nationwide.

Wi-Fi roaming facility in Manadipattu village
BSNL established Wi-Fi Roaming in Manadipattu village, creating India’s second fully Wi-Fi-enabled village. The service provides internet access to all users through Wi-Fi hotspots.
BSNL FTTH subscribers can access their home internet from any BSNL Wi-Fi hotspot or FTTH connection nationwide, with usage charged to their home data account.
Following one-time registration, BSNL mobile users can access Wi-Fi hotspots and FTTH networks for swift downloads, including automatic access to FTTH home connections.
Non-BSNL users can access these services through UPI payments.
Intranet fibre-based TV (IFTV) in Puducherry
BSNL’s new IFTV service offers Puducherry FTTH subscribers access to more than 500 live television channels at no additional cost, featuring continuous, high-quality streaming.
Key features include complimentary access to premium content, reliable streaming through BSNL’s FTTH infrastructure, and user-controlled activation through a straightforward opt-in process.
