The incident came to light through a video shared on X. The clip shows a street where a few pedestrians can be seen walking. Shortly after, a woman riding a scooter appears in the frame and her attention is drawn towards a building on her left. She slows down and stops in front of a house before parking her scooter.
The video then shows her walking up to the house and carefully selecting a potted plant. She untangles the stems that were intertwined with other plants nearby and swiftly places the pot on her scooter. A car passes by while she is in the act but she seems completely unbothered. More such comments poured in with one user writing, “Can afford a scooty and petrol but not flower pot?? kaun hain ye log.. kaha se aate hain (Can afford a scooter and petrol but not a flower pot?? Who are these people… where do they come from)??”
Meanwhile, a user offered their own explanation for such acts, commenting, “There is a rumour going around among the women that If you steal a pot or a tree or a money plant from a rich person’s house or any other house which is more prosperous than you and plant it in your house, then prosperity will come to your house too. That is why all the women are doing this.”
The incident comes after a similar one from over two months ago where a woman in a BMW stole a potted plant from outside a shop in Noida.
