In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel, Mukesh Khanna said, “Ten years ago, I was contacted by Aditya Chopra’s group. They asked me if I could give them the rights to Shaktimaan.” He said that back then, coincidentally Ranveer Singh’s fan made picture as Shaktimaan had surfaced on social media, and then suddenly, he got a call for the rights. However, Mukesh revealed he refused to give the rights, and instead, gave them a counter-offer. He added that he didn’t want to give away the rights as they would have turned it into ‘disco drama’.

Meanwhile, yesterday, in a video shared on his YouTube channel, Mukesh Khanna shared his perspective on Allu Arjun’s suitability for the role of Shaktimaan. He said that he isn’t committing to anything, neither is he judging, but he feels Allu Arjun can be an excellent choice for Shaktimaan’s role. “Real life mein bhi acchi look hai, acchi height hai, sirf usko isme villain bana ke rakha hai. Inke baare mein kaha jaa sakta hai, socha jaa sakta hai ki inko lo. Iske chehre pe Shaktimaan laaya jaa sakta hai,” he said.

Shaktimaan, one of the most popular Hindi superhero television shows, aired from 1997 to 2005. The cast of Shaktimaan included Mukesh Khanna, Vaishnavi Macdonald, Surendra Pal, among others.
