A thief, in Madhya Pradesh, prayed to the deity before stealing a huge sum of money from a petrol pump.

An unusual incident took place at a petrol station on the Jeerapur-Machalpur road in Madhya Pradesh. A thief was captured on camera offering prayers to the deity before stealing Rs 1.6 lakh. The note attached to the clip read, “Took blessings from God before stealing: A thief broke into a petrol pump office in Rajgarh district of Madhya Pradesh and stole about Rs 1.6 lakh.”

In the footage, which was recorded on CCTV, the masked man was seen sneaking into the petrol pump office. Next, he saw a mandir in the office. He is then seen walking towards the mandir and offering prayers to the deity. Later, he looked at drawers for money. He even attempted to break the CCTV camera so that it wouldn’t capture him stealing, but he quit after failing. Towards the end, he was seen attempting to pry open some drawers on a table.

According to the local police, the thief stole around Rs 1.6 lakh from the petrol pump. Additionally, the officers shared that the robbery took place when the petrol pump employees were sleeping. Reportedly, employees tried to catch the thief but failed. The police are still looking for the accused. As potential evidence, they have recovered an iron road and a saree from the petrol pump office. Meanwhile, the police have advised the local people to be alert and report any suspicious individuals in the area.
