WhatsApp will not support this iOS versions anymore
WhatsApp is one of most used social networking platforms in today’s digital world. This is a most loved platform for both iOS and Android users. However, the social media platform might soon stop supporting some of the older iOS versions. WhatsApp will not support this iOS versions anymore
According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp will be ending support for older iOS versions. This includes iOS configuration older than 2025. If you have versions older than 15.1, then you will no longer be able to access the app. Even if you try to use a previous beta version through TestFlight, you will not be eligible to use WhatsApp.
As of now WhatsApp supports iOS 12 and later. However, with the upcoming update, the app will need at least iOS 15.1 for basic/minimum functionality. But what is the deadline to update your iOS to the eligible versions? So, to make sure that you have enough time to make the necessary updates, WhatsApp is offering a five-month notice period. This means you get five months to save your WhatsApp data. Also, you can update your iOS within this time period. Reportedly, the update will be rolling out from May 2025.

The new WhatsApp will impact users of the following Apple iPhone users. This includes:
- iPhone 5s
- iPhone 6
- iPhone 6 Plus
Notably, these models only support up to iOS 12.5.7, so they will be affected.

- First go to the Settings of the phone
- Next you need to click on General settings option
- This option will show you a “Software update” option.
- Click on this to check if your device is up-to-date or not.
- In case your device is not, then click on the ‘update’ option. Now you are all set to use WhatsApp in the updated version.
