Parliament Winter Session: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will step foot into the Parliament for the first time on Thursday as she is all set to take oath in Lok Sabha.
She won the Wayanad parliamentary by-poll by a record margin of over 4 lakh votes after her brother Rahul Gandhi vacated the seat following his twin-wins from Wayanad as well as Rae Bareli in the general elections this year. Rahul chose to keep Rae Bareli and vacate Wayanad for sister Priyanka.

The party had later announced the party’s general secretary as its official candidate for the seat.
With her oath-taking today, Priyanka will become the latest member of the Gandhi family to sit in the Lok Sabha. Her mother Sonia Gandhi, who decided not to run in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, was a previous MP from Rae Bareli since 2004. Sonia Gandhi opted for Rajya Sabha instead as her way to the Parliament.
