Delhi-Dehradun Expressway – Route, Status, Deadline, Start Date: India’s road infrastructure has seen significant advancements over the past decade, with the inauguration of numerous new highways and expressways. The development of expressways around the country making headlines, including the Delhi-Dehradun expressway, which claims to reduce the travel time between the national capital and the state (Uttarakhand) capital, drastically. Four Sections: Divided into four sections, Delhi-Dehradun expressway is being constructed starting from Delhi-Mumbai Expressway(DME) near Akshardham in Delhi, Shastri Park, Khajuri Khas, EPE interchange at Khekra in Mandola, Baghpat, Shamli, Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh to Dehradun, Uttrakhand.

Distance & Cost: With a total length of around 212 km, the 6-lane Delhi-Dehradun Greenfield Access Controlled Expressway is being built at a cost of Rs 12,000 crore.

Travel Time: Once completed, the expressway would reduce travel time between Dehradun-Delhi from 6 hrs to 2.30 hours & Delhi-Haridwar from 5 hours to 2 hours.

Eco-Sensitive Zone: With Asia’s longest elevated wildlife corridor (12km), the last 20km stretch of the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway passes through the eco-sensitive zone of Raja Ji National Park.
