Noida Aqua Metro Line Extention: The cabinet accepted the updated detail project report (DPR) for the Aqua Metro line that runs from Noida to Greno West on Friday. The administration made this decision during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday to improve traffic flow from Sector-51 Metro Station to Greater Noida’s Knowledge Park-5.

This route will feature 11 stations. This route will extend the Aqua Line. Currently, Aqua Metro is operating on the Aqua Line from Sector-51 to Greater Noida Depot. Running the metro along this route will alleviate traffic congestion on the 130-metre stretch.
Finance Minister Suresh Khanna announced in Lok Bhawan today that the cabinet has approved a proposal to extend the 17.435-kilometre-long Aqua Line Metro project from Sector 51 Noida Station to Knowledge Park 5 in Greater Noida.

In this, Rs 394 crore will be spent by the Government of India and Rs 394 crore by the state government. Noida will sanction 40 percent of the funds received from the state government, while the Greater Noida Authority will sanction 60 percent.

This route will include a total of 11 stations. The overall project’s construction cost has been estimated to be Rs 2991 crore. Previously, Rs 2197 crore was fixed. At the start of metro operations, this route will see approximately 1.25 lakh users. The metro route included in the amended DPR is approximately two and a half kilometres longer than before. Previously, a 14.958-kilometer-long path was developed, which has since been extended to 17.435 kilometres.
