Mumbai Traffic Advisory: Key Routes Closed, Diversions Announced For Nov 23 Maharashtra Election Result Day

Mumbai Traffic Advisory: In anticipation of the Maharashtra assembly election vote counting on Saturday, November 23, the Mumbai Traffic Police have released a travel advisory. The results of the elections, held on November 20, will determine whether the Mahayuti alliance or the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) will emerge victorious.

According to a statement from the Mumbai Traffic Police, traffic regulations will be enforced due to the presence of a Strong Room at the Bharat Ratna Rajiv Gandhi District Sports Complex on Sant Channyya Road in Dharavi. These regulations will be in effect from 00:01 hours to 24:00 hours on November 23, 2024.

The Kurla Traffic Division will manage temporary traffic controls in specific areas throughout the day. The restrictions will begin at 1:00 AM and remain in place until 11:00 PM. Residents and commuters are advised to be aware of the route closures and diversions to avoid delays.

Mumbai Traffic Advisory: Key Routes Affected

Key routes affected include the 178-Dharavi Assembly Office and the Strong Room at the Bharat Ratna Rajiv Gandhi District Sports Complex. Notably, no vehicles will be allowed to enter the southbound lane of Sant Channyya Road, particularly between Shri Dattu Katake Chauk (Kacharpatti Junction) and Dharavi ‘Y’ Junction.

Mumbai Traffic Adivisory: Alternative Routes

To facilitate smoother travel, the traffic police have outlined alternative routes. Commuters should start from Shri Dattu Katake Chauk and head towards LBS Marg. Following this, they should take a right turn at Pai Naresh Mane Junction, which is near Sion Station Junction. Vehicles can then turn onto St. Rohidas Marg and continue through Dharavi ‘Y’ Junction to reach their destination.

These measures aim to ensure a secure and efficient traffic flow during the vote counting process, as the city prepares for an important day in its political calendar. All road users are encouraged to plan their journeys accordingly and adhere to the traffic regulations in place.
