The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has issued the exam schedule for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025. The exam will be held on February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025. The examination will comprise 30 papers and the candidates will also be given the choice to opt for two papers, as per GATE FAQ 2025 issued by the institute. The total marks for each GATE 2025 paper will be 100 marks, with a General Aptitude section worth 15 marks and the remaining 85 marks will comprise of the core papers. For the two-paper option, candidates must first select a primary test paper, with the second paper chosen from the allowed combinations.

IIT Roorkee has extended the application correction facility for GATE) 2025 till November 20. Earlier, the deadline for making corrections was November 10. Only a few fields will be available for correction, and a fee will be applicable for making any changes. Candidates belonging to the SC, ST and PwD categories will need to pay a fee of Rs 900 for any corrections, while those in other categories, as well as international students, must pay Rs 1,800.
IIT Roorkee has added 11 new cities to the GATE 2025 exam centre list, making it more accessible to candidates across India. The newly included cities are Baddi, Una, Palampur, Puttur, Bhilwara, Dausa, Hanumangarh, Nandyala, Erode, Krishnagiri, and Pollachi.
As per the marking scheme, negative markings will be applied to each incorrect answer in the MCQ section. For each incorrect one-mark MCQ, one-third of the mark will be deducted. For a two-mark MCQ, a two-thirds mark deduction will be applicable. There is no negative grading for incorrect answers to MSQ or NAT questions.
