CM Yogi Launches Sanskrit Scholarship Scheme: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has launched a scholarship scheme at the Sampurnanand Sanskrit University for all Sanskrit students. As per the announcement made by Yogi, under the scheme, scholarships worth Rs 586 lakh will be distributed to 69,195 Sanskrit students across the state.

He also explained that previously only 300 students were eligible for scholarships, with age restrictions. However, those restrictions have been removed now.
“Previously, only 300 Sanskrit students were eligible for scholarships, and then there were age restrictions. But under the new initiative, benefits are being extended to all eligible students.
“Sanskrit is not just dev vaani (language of gods), but also a scientific language that can be applied to modern fields like computer science and artificial intelligence,” he said in a gathering at the Sampurnanand Sanskrit University.
Yogi also encouraged students to open bank accounts to ensure direct and secure transfer of funds.

In addition to this, he also announced plans to revive residential Gurukul-style Sanskrit schools across Uttar Pradesh. These gurukul-like institutions will receive additional support with special assistance to those offering free accommodations and meals for students. These gurukuls will also be given the autonomy to recruit qualified acharyas. The government is also establishing a ‘vedic science centre’ to promote advanced research in the language, he added.
