Vande Bharat Express: Indian Railways to operate Chhath special trains- Check fare, route, and schedule

To cater to the Diwali rush, four special trips of the Vande Bharat Express will be added between New Delhi and Patna.

In a bid to accommodate the increased travel demand during the festive season, Indian Railways has announced the operation of additional Vande Bharat Express services on crucial routes, including New Delhi-Patna and Lucknow-Chhapra. This initiative aims to facilitate travel for passengers heading home for the Chhath Puja and Diwali celebrations.

New Delhi-Patna Vande Bharat Express
To cater to the Diwali rush, four special trips of the Vande Bharat Express will be added between New Delhi and Patna. The train, designated as train numbers 02252 (New Delhi to Patna) and 02251 (Patna to New Delhi), features eight coaches and will stop at key stations, including Kanpur, Prayagraj, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, Buxar, Ara, and Patna.

  • Departure and Arrival Timings:
    • New Delhi: Departs at 8:25 a.m., arriving in Patna at 8:00 p.m.
    • Patna: Departs at 7:30 a.m., arriving in New Delhi at 7:00 p.m.
  • Operational Dates:
    • From New Delhi: October 30, November 1, November 3, and November 6.
    • From Patna: October 31, November 2, November 4, and November 7.

Lucknow-Chhapra Vande Bharat Express
Additionally, the Lucknow-Chhapra route will see enhanced services with train numbers 02270 (Lucknow to Chhapra) and 02269 (Chhapra to Lucknow). This train will benefit passengers traveling through Sultanpur, Varanasi, Ghazipur, Ballia, and Suremanpur.

  • Timings:
    • Lucknow: Departs at 2:15 p.m., arriving in Chhapra at 9:30 p.m.
    • Chhapra: Departs at 11:00 p.m., arriving in Lucknow at 3:30 a.m.
  • Operating Dates:
    • Runs from October 25 to October 31 (except October 29).
    • Resumes from November 1 to November 8 (except November 5).

Upgraded Services for Intercity Travelers
In addition to the new Vande Bharat services, the Varanasi-Lucknow Intercity Express will be upgraded to a Superfast Express starting November 25, with the train numbers updated accordingly.

Passengers are encouraged to plan their travels in advance and utilize these additional services to ensure a smooth journey during the festive season.
