Ahead of Diwali celebrations, Reliance Jio has announced a special price reduction for its ‘JioBharat’ 4G phones, lowering the price from Rs 999 to Rs 699 for a limited time.
In this limited-period offer, JioBharat 4G phones now priced at Rs 999 will be available to all users for only Rs 699, said the Ambani-owned company in a press release.

As per the company, when compared with the lowest feature phone plan available with other operators (Rs 199 / month), the JioBharat plan is almost 40% cheaper and provides Rs 76 savings every month.
Previously, at the India Mobile Congress 2024, Reliance Jio introduced the JioBharat V3 and V4, the next generation of affordable 4G feature phones. Priced at Rs 1099, JioBharat phones will come with a monthly recharge plan of Rs 123, with unlimited voice calls and 14 GB of data.
Jio claims the JioBharat subscription will provide savings of almost 40 per cent over other players.

The phones will have a 1000 mAh battery so that users can enjoy uninterrupted service throughout the day. The phones will have a storage capacity of 128 GB and it supports 23 Indian languages.
JioBharat to corner 50% market share in the segment:Reliance Industries’ entry-level internet-enabled JioBharat phone managed to corner 50 per cent market share in the sub-Rs 1,000 segment, the oil-to-telecom conglomerate stated in its annual report for FY24 on Wednesday. The phone model was launched under the Jio subsidiary with the idea of pricing a smartphone at the range of a feature phone, with the motivation of helping transition India from a 2G phone market to that of 5G phones.
“JioBharat phone offers people who are on 2G networks an enriching data experience at affordable prices. In fact, JioBharat phone has already acquired 50% market share in the sub- C 1,000 segment,” Reliance revealed in its report for FY24.

Reliance Industries’ CMD Mukesh Ambani had announced the launch of JioBharat smartphone in July 2023, promising to bring in India low-priced phones that mirrored the internet connectivity of 4G and 5G smartphones.
“The launch of JioBharat phone was another revolutionary step towards bridging the country’s digital divide. A smartphone at the price of a feature phone, the JioBharat phone will go a long way in the realisation of a 2G-mukt Bharat. The JioBharat Phone is helping over 10 million users upgrade to digital networks at extremely affordable costs” the RIL annual report read further.
JioBharat phone’s launch accounted for one in many launched by Jio in FY24. JioSpaceFiber, JioCloudXP, JioGamesCLoud, JioCloudPC, JioMotive, JioSafe, and JioTranslate also made the cut to the Jio launch list in the previous fiscal year.
Further, Reliance believes that its one-of-a-kind phones have introduced feature phone users to smartphones. “JioBharat device platform is accelerating the transition of feature phone users to digital networks,” the report said.
