The Men’s Selection Committee on Friday announced the squads for India’s tour of South Africa and the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have announced the Indian squad that will tour Australia for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024.

Rohit Sharma as expected will lead the side with Jasprit Bumrah announced as his deputy for the coming series.
The Indian veteran fast-bowler, Mohammed Shami misses out from the squad. He was looking to make a full recovery ahead of the Australia tour but he misses out from the squad.
The likes of Harshit Rana and Nitish Kumar Reddy have received their maiden Test call-ups. Rana has had an outstanding season in the Indian Premier League where he was amongst the highest wicket-takers of the 2024 edition, playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Nitish Reddy on the other hand has also had a fine season with the Sunrisers Hyderabad where he will likely be looked at as an all-rounder. He has shown that he can bowl quickly and also be a handy batter to have on the side.
Interestingly, Kuldeep Yadav misses out on the squad. According to BCCI’s release, he was unavailable for selection as he has been referred to the BCCI Centre of Excellence after the ongoing series against New Zealand to help get past a chronic issue with his left groin.
