Bengaluru To Face 7-Hrs Power Cut In THESE Areas On Oct 23; Check List Of Affected Areas

Bengaluru Power Cut: Residents of several areas in the N-9 Sub Division of the Jalahalli Division in Bengaluru will face power outages on Wednesday, October 23, due to emergency maintenance at the 66/11 kV Vidia Substation, operated by Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL). The outages are expected to occur from 10 AM to 5 PM.

Affected areas include Vinayaka Nagar, Vikas Nagar, Shobha Apartments, 8th Mile Road, Ramaiah Layout, Havanur Barangay, Narayana Layout, Vidya School and Kuvempu Nagar, among others. Additional disruptions will impact residents near Vidya Bus Stop, Reliance Fresh, Ashok Nagar and many more localities, including parts of Soladevanahalli and Tarabanahalli Main Road.

Furthermore, residents of Havanur Barangay, Shesmarghatta Main Road, Sidedahalli and partially in Vishvesharayya Layout and Royal Enclave will also experience power interruptions.

KPTCL has advised all residents to plan their activities accordingly to minimise inconvenience during the outage.

Meanwhile, Bengaluru experienced a return of heavy rainfall on Monday evening after a brief break, with northern areas facing the worst of the downpour. Commuters dealt with waterlogged roads and severe traffic disruptions as residents shared their frustrations on social media. Reports indicated extremely heavy rain was expected to continue for the next few hours, prompting warnings to avoid travel due to possible flooding.

This weather shift came after a sunny afternoon, despite an orange alert issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The rain exacerbated issues with the city’s drainage system, leading to local authorities mobilising to clear clogged drains. Many residents expressed concern over the inadequate infrastructure as waterlogged streets stranded vehicles and hampered commuting for office and school-goers.
