In a bizarrely funny incident, a man learning to drive, drove his car into a lake in Jangaon district in Telangana before being rescued by a local who witnessed the episode and quickly rushed to his rescue.

Another person, who jumped into the lake to rescue the duo, is seen helping the two men swim their way out of the pond while locals watched on the shore, the video showed.

According to reports, the incident took place on Friday when a man, accompanied by a driving instructor, was taking driving lessons in a ground near the Bathukamma Kunta lake. After driving for a while, the driver mistakenly put his foot on the accelerator instead of applying the brakes, resulting in the car plunging into the lake.
Police said both men abandoned the vehicle and jumped into the water as it began to submerge in the lake. The duo then safely swam out of the lake with the help of a local who witnessed the incident and rushed to their rescue, they said.
A case has been registered against the driver for rash and negligent driving, police added.
