Samvat Trading 2024: Stock markets open for an hour on the day of Diwali to mark the beginning of new Samvat also known as the Hindy New Year and Laxmi Puja, the goddess of wealth. Samvat Trading assumes enormous spiritual and religious significance among traders and businessmen as they make new ledgers on the Samvat day and make auspicious investments in stocks and commodities.

Timing for Muhurat trading to be observed on the day of Diwali will be notified by stock exchanges in due course of time. Usually, Muhurat trading on Samvat day takes place for an hour in the evening.

This year, Samvat 2081 will begin on the day of Diwali that is on Friday, November 1. In Samvat 2080, which will end on October 31, stock markets handsomely rewarded investors as the benchmark Sensex has jumped a whopping 26 per cent with many individual stocks more than doubling thereby creating enormous wealth for equity investors.

Samvat 2081: Trading in Muhurat Session

Stock brokerage firms will allow investors to make trades or investments in Diwali’s Muhurat Trading session as per the trading timing announced by the stock exchanges. Trades undertaken during the Muhurat session will get settled on the next working day as Diwali is market holiday for clearing houses like NSDL and CSDL.

In the last year’s Muhurat Trading session, the Sensex and Nifty advanced 0.54 per cent.
