Weather Today: IMD issues orange alert for Andaman; Check rainfall prediction across India

The IMD has also issued an orange alert for severe downpours over Andaman and Nicobar Islands and South Interior Karnataka.

The India Meteorological Department has informed in its latest bulletin that isolated heavy showers and very heavy rains are expected in multiple regions of India. Andaman & Nicobar Islands is predicted to get very intense rainfall on 21 October whereas Gangetic West Bengal is likely to receive it from 24 October to 25 October and Odisha may get it for the same duration. The IMD has also issued an orange alert for severe downpours over Andaman and Nicobar Islands and yellow alerts for Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Madhya Maharashtra, Kerala and Vidarbha.

Weather Prediction for Eastern India

According to the Met Department, Andaman & Nicobar Islands is likely to witness average rainfall to heavy rains on 21 October.  Odisha is expected to get light rains along with isolated heavy showers on 23 October. Meanwhile, rainfall with low intensity is likely to prevail over Gangetic West Bengal along with isolated heavy showers on 23 October and heavy rains on 24 October and 25 October.

Southern Region Weather Update

A warning for heavy showers has been issued for Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Mahe, and Karaikal from 21 October to 23 October. Isolated intense showers are likely to occur in the North and Coastal Interior of Karnataka on 25 October. Likewise, Rayalaseema may get similar weather conditions on 21 October.

Rainfall forecast for Central and Eastern India

Light to average precipitation is forecast accompanied by lightning and thunderstorms in Goa and Konkan for the next four days. On the other hand, isolated heavy downpours may take place in Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat on 21 October and Chhattisgarh is likely to receive it on 25 October and 26 October.

Delhi Weather today

he Weather Department has predicted a clear sky for the national capital and the maximum temperature is likely to be 36 degrees Celsius and the minimum will be 18 degrees Celsius. The air quality of New Delhi continues to remain in the poor category as the cold weather settles in.
