Stock Market Holiday 2024: BSE, NSE open or closed in October 21-27 week? Check full details

Stock market holiday 2024: The Indian stock market will continue operations as usual the next week without any interruption of holiday. The stock exchanges such as Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) or National Stock Exchange (NSE) will open all five days between Monday, October 21 to Friday, October 25. There will be two weekend holidays of the stock exchange on Saturday and Sunday.

This is the last full week before the week of Diwali will commence from Monday, October 28 to Friday, November 01.

The stock market will remain closed on November 01 on the occasion of Diwali Laxmi Pujan. Both NSE and BSE will remain closed to carry on the normal functions like trading or settlements in equity segment, equity derivative segment, SLB segment, currency derivatives segment, commodity derivatives segment, and many more.

Diwali Muhurat Trading 2024: Date, timings

Domestic benchmark indices NSE and BSE have announced the timings for the special muhurat trading session which holds on the special occasion of Diwali Laxmi Pujan.

Stock exchanges NSE and BSE have announced that the special muhurat trading will be held on November 1,2024 (Diwali – Laxmi Pujan).

The National Stock Exchange and BSE will conduct their annual Diwali Muhurat trading session on November 1 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The 15-minute pre-open session will start at 5:45 pm till 6:00 pm. The normal market hours will be 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The closing session will last 10 minutes from 19:10 pm to 19:20 pm.

BSE announced that the normal market hours will remain from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with pre-opening at 5:45 PM and Post-Closing at 7:20 PM.

Indian stock market outlook: Key factors to watch

In the absence of any major triggers, market participants will focus on upcoming earnings for direction. First, they will react to the results of banking heavyweights such as HDFC Bank and Kotak Bank. Later, companies like ITC, Hindustan Unilever, ICICI Bank, BPCL, HPCL, and Ultratech Cement will also announce their earnings, according to Ajit Mishra – SVP, Research, Religare Broking Ltd.
