ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. had expressed deep condolences following the passing of Padma Vibhushan Ratan Tata on October 9. He was a beacon of leadership and compassion for generations of Indians. In a tribute to his significant contributions to India’s economy and society, Punit Goenka, MD and CEO of ZEE, proposed a biographical film celebrating Tata’s life and impact. Within a few days, the release went viral as netizens suggested names of the actors who can play the role of Ratan Tata well.
One of the internet users wrote on X (Twitter), ‘Jim Sarbh as young Ratan Tata.’ In response, another user commented, ‘Both have the same smile.’ Another comment read, ‘Naseeruddin Shah or Boman Irani for the older Ratan Tata.’

One user on Instagram wrote, ‘Naseeruddin Shah would be the best for this role.’ For context, Boman Irani has already portrayed Ratan Tata on screen in the Prime Minister Narendra Modi biopic, directed and co-written by Vivek Oberoi. Judging by the social media reactions, it seems netizens would love to see Jim Sarbh as the young Ratan Tata and Boman Irani as the older version on screen.
Well, we’ll have to wait for the official announcement to see who will best fit the role of Ratan Tata.

“As a humble tribute to the leader of the corporate world who made significant contributions to India’s economy, resulting in the upliftment of millions of Indians, the MD & CEO of ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Ltd., Mr. Punit Goenka, has proposed that a biographical film on the life of Shri Ratan Tata Ji be made in order to pay respects to the great man and acknowledge the positive impact he has created on the world at large through his social and entrepreneurial initiatives.
“Mr. Goenka believes that the great work done by Shri Ratan Tata should be presented to the nation and the world at large, especially the youth, and ZEE would take a step forward in this direction.”
