How to apply for a PAN card on NSDL?

To begin the application process on the NSDL website, users should first visit the Online PAN Application section. Depending on their citizenship, applicants must fill out Form 49A for Indian citizens or Form 49AA for foreign nationals. After selecting the appropriate application type, users will need to choose their category, which includes options such as Individual, Hindu Undivided Family (HUF), Trust, and Company, amongst others.Once the basic details, such as name and date of birth, are filled in, the applicant will receive a token number that allows them to continue. More detailed personal information must then be provided, followed by selecting the method for submitting supporting documents. Users can opt to send physical documents, use a digital signature, or employ an e-signature with Aadhaar OTP.Next, applicants need to select the documents they will provide as proof of identity, address, and date of birth. Once this information is confirmed, the applicant can proceed to the payment stage. Payment options include either a Demand Draft (DD) or online payment through various methods, such as Net Banking or credit/debit cards.After successful payment, an acknowledgement receipt must be printed, and two recent passport-sized photographs attached. It is crucial to send these documents to Protean e-Gov Technologies Limited to complete the process.

How to apply for a PAN card on UTIITSL?

On the other hand, applying for a PAN card through the UTIITSL website involves similar steps. After visiting the site, applicants will need to select ‘New PAN’ and fill out Form 49A, regardless of their citizenship status. Following this, they can pay the required fee and obtain an acknowledgment slip containing a 15-digit number. Supporting documentation must be submitted within 15 days to complete the application.The fees for applying for a PAN card vary based on the applicant’s address. For communication addresses in India, the fee is Rs 93 (exclusive of GST), while it is Rs 864 for addresses outside India.When applying, certain documents are required. For proof of date of birth, options include a birth certificate, passport, or other government-issued IDs. Proof of address can be established with documents such as utility bills, bank statements, or government letters, and proof of identity can be verified with an Aadhaar card, passport, or voter ID.
