Haryana Traffic Advisory: Several major road closures have been planned in view of the swearing-in ceremony of the new Haryana government which will be held at Shalimar Ground in Sector 5, Panchkula, on Wednesday, October 17, A traffic advisory has been issued in this regard by the local police. Access to key routes will be restricted for six hours, from 9 AM to 3 PM on both Wednesday and Thursday.

Haryana Traffic Advisory: Panchkula Roads Closed

Routes from Bella Vista Chowk to Hafed Chowk, Sector 4/5 light point to Tawa Chowk, and the Sector 9/10 traffic light to Sector 8/9 traffic light will be closed to the general public. Access around the Sector 6 roundabout will also be restricted. Senior government officials, MLAs, MPs, and invited guests are advised to follow the police’s directions for smooth entry to the venue, as per a TIE report.

Security has been tightened in Panchkula, with sharp shooters deployed at strategic buildings near the venue from Tuesday onwards. Special arrangements have been made to ensure the safety of the hundreds of VIPs attending the event.

Despite the road closures, Panchkula Deputy Commissioner Yash Garg confirmed that the markets in the affected areas will remain open and will not face any disruptions.

High-Profile Guests To Attend Ceremony

Around 500 VIPs are expected to attend the ceremony, which will be held at Dussehra Ground in Sector 5. Besides Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 14 Chief Ministers, including Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh, Mohan Yadav of Madhya Pradesh, and Pushkar Singh Dhami of Uttarakhand, will participate in the ceremony. Other high-ranking officials, deputy chief ministers of BJP-ruled states, and central ministers will also be present.

A helipad in Sector 5 has been prepared for VVIP arrivals, and arrangements have been made for charter planes at Pinjore airfield. Some guests will also be flying into Chandigarh Airport, where BJP leaders and security personnel are coordinating the arrivals.

Nayab Singh Saini will take oath as the Chief Minister of Haryana on October 17. The assembly elections in Haryana were held on October 5 and the results were announced on October 8. The BJP secured a historical win by winning 48 seats.
