In the 2014 Lok Sabha election, she contested on a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket and defeated the incumbent from Mathura, Jayant Chaudhary (RLD), by 330,743 votes. She retained the Mathura seat in the 2019 and 2024 general elections.
