- Before starting the puja, establish the idols of the Panchadev: Surya Dev, Shri Ganesh, Durga, Shiva, and Vishnu. Along with this, sanctify the setup with a sprinkle of Ganga water.
- First, begin the puja with the mantras dedicated to Lord Ganesh. Perform the worship of Lord Ganesh with the following mantra: “Gajaananam Bhoota Ganaadi Sevitam, Kapittha Jambu Phala Saara Bhakshitam. Umaasutam Shoka Vinashakaaranam, Namami Vighneshwar Paada Pankajam.”
- After worshiping Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesh, apply a tilak of red vermilion on their foreheads.
