Stocks in Focus: GIFT Nifty traded higher as the index was up 44 points or 0.18% at 25,165 indicating a higher start for domestic indices NSE Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex on Wednesday. Previously, on Tuesday, the NSE Nifty 50 closed the session 217 points or 0.88% higher at 25,013, while the BSE Sensex rose 585 points or 0.72% to close at 81,635.

RBI Monetary Policy Committee

The Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) monetary policy meeting’s result will be announced today by Governor Shaktikanta Das on the benchmark interest rate. Economists said that the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) is expected to keep the repo rate unchanged at 6.50 per cent. Dhiraj Relli, MD & CEO of HDFC Securities, said, “While we do not expect the RBI to start its rate cut cycle, the possibility of a change in stance to neutral is on the table. The MPC may keep the repo rates steady at 6.50 per cent for the 10th consecutive time. Although it remains a close call, the RBI could very well deliver a no-change policy while only changing its tone towards the dovish side.”

Tata Technologies 

Tata Technologies and BMW Group on Tuesday officially launched BMW TechWork, a 50:50 joint venture with an interest in delivering software solutions for enhanced digital experiences. 

Vodafone Idea 

Vodafone Idea on Tuesday said the company continues to be engaged with the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) for the removal of the bank guarantee requirements for spectrum purchased before 2022 auctions.

Infosys 

Infosys said that it expanded its four-year collaboration with Old National Bank, the sixth-largest commercial bank headquartered in the Midwest, for the digital transformation of the bank.

Godrej Consumer Products 

Godrej Consumer Products (GCPL) on Tuesday said it expected mid-single-digit consolidated sales growth in rupee terms and low-teens growth in constant currency for the September quarter as part of the business update for the period. GCPL is the second FMCG firm to flag weak numbers in Q2 after Dabur said last week that it expected to post a mid-single-digit decline in its consolidated revenue for Q2FY25. 

Sheela Foam

Sheela Foam, the parent company of Sleepwell Mattress, on Tuesday announced that its board has approved the acquisition of 10.50 per cent in House of Kieraya (HoK) which owns furniture rental company Furlenco.

Torrent Power 

Torrent Power has received a letter of award from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited for the long-term supply of 2,000 Megawatt (MW) Energy Storage Capacity from the InSTS Connected Pumped Hydro Storage Plant.

Nuvama Wealth Management 

Nuvama Wealth Management on Tuesday said it has been issued an administrative warning by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) following an inspection related to its merchant banking operations.

IRFC 

IRFC on Tuesday announced that it will finance up to Rs 700 crore under a finance lease for 20 BOBR (Bogie Open Bottom Rapid) rakes procured under the General-Purpose Wagon Investment Scheme Of the Ministry of Railways (GPWIS ) to NTPC.

SKF India 

The company’s board of directors gave a nod to the demerger of its automotive and industrial businesses through a scheme of agreement on Tuesday. It has given the corporate restructuring committee the authority to take steps to prepare a detailed scheme for the proposed demerger, according to an exchange filing.
