Stocks in Focus: GIFT Nifty traded higher as the index was up 47 points or 0.19% at 24,900 indicating a negative start for domestic indices NSE Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex on Tuesday. Previously, on Monday, the NSE Nifty 50 closed the session 219 points or 0.87% lower at 24,795.75, while the BSE Sensex fell 638 points or 0.78% to close at 81,050.

Kalyan Jewellers

Kalyan Jewellers, a Kerala-based jewellery retailer, reported double-digit growth in revenue and same-store sales in the September quarter (Q2FY25), driven by strong gold demand across markets. The announcement follows rival Titan’s report of a 25% year-on-year growth in domestic operations for Q2, after a relatively soft June quarter.

IndusInd Bank 

IndusInd Bank reported net advances at Rs 3,56,980 crore as of September 30, 2024, a 13% on year jump compared to Rs 3,15,454 crore reported in the year-ago period. On a sequential basis, it was up by 3% as against Rs 3,47,898 crore posted by the lender in Q1 FY25. The deposits grew 15% on year to Rs 4,12,704 crore in Q2 FY25 against Rs 3,59,786 crore in the same period a year ago. On a quarter-on-quarter basis, the growth was recorded at 4%.

TCS

The country’s largest IT services firm, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is expected to post a steady rise in its revenues during the July-September quarter on the back of ramp-up of the BSNL’s 4G project. However, analysts continue to remain doubtful of any meaningful recovery in growth in the US and the UK markets.

Tata Motors

Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover recorded a 3% decline in retail sales standing at 1,03,108 units in Q2 FY25 as compared to the year-ago period. Retail sales for the first six months of the financial year were at 2,14,288 units, up 3% YoY, Tata Motors said in a statement.

HDFC Bank 

HDFC Bank on Monday announced that its board had approved the 100% stake sale of its wholly owned subsidiary, HDFC Education and Development Services to Vama Sundari Investments Private Ltd. 

IRCON International 

IRCON International has disclosed that Apex Buildsys, a company contractor, has initiated a Rs 38.71 crore claim currently under arbitration. The dispute revolves around liquidated damages deductions, price variation clauses (PVC), and overhead charges.

BEL

Bharat Electronics said that it has secured additional orders of more than Rs 500 crore since its last disclosure on September 11, 2024. The major orders received include EMI shelters, AMC for Integrated Air Command and Control System nodes, upgrade/spares for gun systems, spares for radars, communication systems, etc.

Lemon Tree Hotels 

Lemon Tree Hotels announced the signing of its newest property, Lemon Tree Hotel, Udaipur, set to open in FY27. This property will be managed by Carnation Hotels, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lemon Tree Hotels. The Udaipur-based property will feature 54 well-appointed rooms, a restaurant, a bar, etc.

HEG 

HEG said it has acquired an 8.23% stake in GrafTech International, a graphite electrode manufacturing company listed on the New York Stock Exchange, through secondary market transactions.
