Updating Your Aadhar Card Information

The Unique Identification Authority of India ( UIDAI ) allows Aadhar cardholders to update key personal information, including name, date of birth, mobile number, and address. These updates can be easily made online or through authorized centers.

Free Online Updates Until October 2024

If you need to update your Aadhar information, now is a great time. UIDAI is offering free online updates through the myAadhaar portal until October 2024. This allows users to correct errors or update details without incurring any fees.

Name Change Restrictions

When it comes to changing your name on your Aadhar card, there are limits to how many times you can make the correction. You are allowed to update your name only twice in a lifetime. If you need to change it a third time, it will require special approval from your regional UIDAI office, and the change can only be made under specific circumstances.

Address Changes Without Limit

Unlike name changes, there is no restriction on how many times you can update your address. You can use UIDAI’s self-service portal (ssup.uidai.gov.in) to make as many address changes as needed.

Keeping your Aadhar card information up-to-date is vital for smooth transactions and verifying your identity. While some updates are limited, ensuring accurate details can save time and trouble in the future.
