Annual Life Certificate: What is the last date to submit Jeevan Pramaan to continue receiving pension

To continue receiving their pension, all Central Government pensioners must submit an annual life certificate in November. The government has permitted seniors in the age category of 80 years and above to file an Annual Life Certificate from October 1, instead of November 1 every year, to give an extra special window to very senior pensioners.

What is Jeevan Pramaan

Jeevan Pramaan is a biometric-enabled Aadhaar-based Digital Life Certificate for pensioners. Jeevan Pramaan i.e DLC is generated for individual pensioners using his/her Aadhaar number and Biometrics. A Digital Life Certificate is valid and recognized under the IT Act. The system benefits the pensioner by going before the Pension disbursing Authority to prove that he/she is alive.

When is the last day to submit Annual Life Certificate

For pensioners aged 80 and above, the life certificate can be submitted starting from October 1, 2024. In both cases, the life certificate will remain valid until November 30th of the following year.

Usually, the last date to submit is November 30 unless extended by the government.

What will happen if the life certificate is not submitted till November?

Payment of pension for December and onwards will not be made to the pensioner.

If the life certificate is submitted in a subsequent month, when will the pension for November and onwards get paid?

Once the Life Certificate is updated in the Pension System, the pension will be paid along with arrears immediately on the next pension payment. However, in case a Life Certificate is not submitted for three years and above, pension will be commenced after sanction of the competent authority through the CPAO as per due process.

6 simple steps to submit Digital Life Certificate using face authentication

Step1: Use any Android smartphone with 5MP front camera and internet

Step 2: Keep Aadhaar number registered with pension disbursing authority (bank, post office, other) read.

Step 3: Download and install ‘AadhaarFaceRD’ and’ Jeevan Pramaan Face App’ from google store.

Step 4: Carry out operator authentication and scan face of operator.

Step 5: Fill in pensioner details.

Step 6: Submit after capturing photograph from front camera.

SMS with link to download Jeevan Pramaan will be sent to the mobile number.

Note that Aadhaar number or VID is a must for generating/obtaining the JeevanPramaan i.e Digital Life Certificate.
