Punjab: State govt declares list of holidays amid upcoming festive season

Punjab declares two-day Public holiday: The announcement comes as the region gears up for the festival season, starting with the onset of Navratra on October 3.

Punjab Oct Public Holiday: The Punjab government has declared holidays on October 2 and 3 in observance of Gandhi Jayanti and Aggarsen Jayanti.

These mid-week holidays, on Wednesday and Thursday, will see schools, colleges, banks, and government offices across the state closed.

The announcement comes as the region gears up for the festival season, starting with the onset of Navratra on October 3, which coincides with Maharaja Aggarsen Jayanti.

Dussehra, widely celebrated across Punjab, will be marked on October 12, followed by Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti and Diwali, which falls on October 31 this year.
