Truecaller works really well on Android but Apple’s third-party restrictions have limited its usability and features for iPhone users.

Truecaller, the popular caller ID and spam-blocking app, has launched a major new feature for iPhone users: Auto-Block Spam. This functionality, previously exclusive to Android, enables users to automatically block unwanted calls from scammers and telemarketers.

When the app identifies spam calls, it will restrict them, ensuring they do not ring and instead show up in the call history labelled as ‘Scammer’ or ‘Fraud.

The feature is especially useful for users who receive a large number of spam calls, as it significantly reduces the frustration and time spent on these unwanted calls.

TRUECALLER AUTO-BLOCK: HOW TO USE?

The Auto-Block Spam feature is available for iPhone users running the IOS 18 along with the latest Truecaller version 13.12 from the Apple Store and a Truecaller Premium Subscription. Additionally, the company has announced that several other exciting features are being developed for iPhone users.

In India, Truecaller’s Premium membership costs Rs 99 per month or Rs 899 annually. Moreover, customers have the option to select the family plan, which costs Rs 249 monthly or Rs 1,490 annually.

The Premium Subscription also offers a range of features such as an ad-free experience and priority customer support.

How to Enable the Auto-Block Spam Feature

To enable the Auto-Block Spam feature, first upgrade to Truecaller Premium and open the app on your iPhone. Navigate to the Protect tab and toggle on the Auto-Block option. A popup will appear, informing you that this feature may block some important calls along with spam. Tap Enable, and you’re all set!

Users can also choose to block calls from either top spammers or all spammers. If you opt for all spammers, only calls from numbers reported as spam in the app’s directory will be blocked.

Earlier this month, Truecaller CEO Alan Mamedi shared that the platform is also working on a live caller ID feature for iPhone users which will make it as effective as the Android version.
