Latest daily cash deposit limit at ATMs: SBI, HDFC Bank, Bank of Baroda, Union Bank of India, PNB

With the advent of technology, you can now deposit cash in ATMs specified by the bank.

What is Automated Deposit cum Withdrawal Machine?

According to the SBI website, “The Cash Deposit Machine, better known as Automated Deposit cum Withdrawal Machine (ADWM) is an ATM like machine that allows you to deposit cash directly into your account using the ATM cum debit card. You can use this machine to instantly credit your account without visiting the branch. The transaction receipt also gives you your updated account balance.”

The cash deposit limit varies based on the bank and if a Permanent Account Number (PAN) is registered or not.

Here is a look at the cash deposits limits of big banks as on September 24, 2024.

SBI cash deposit limit in ATM

The per transaction limit is Rs.49,900/- for Cardless deposit and through Debit Cards Rs. 2.00 lakhs (subject to account has ceded with PAN number). You can also deposit cash in your PPF, RD and Loan accounts. Up to 200 currency notes can be deposited in a single transaction.

The ADWM only accepts denominations of Rs.100, Rs.200, Rs.500 and Rs.2000.

HDFC Bank cash deposit limit in ATM

The per transaction limit is Rs. 25,000 for savings account and for Card Based Deposit is Rs. 1 lakh. The per day limit is Rs 2 lakh. Cash deposit machines are configured to accept Rs. 100 (new & old), Rs. 200, Rs. 500 and Rs. 2000. Maximum counts of notes which can be deposited into the CDM per transaction are 200. HDFC Bank cash deposit machines are available only for deposit into HDFC Bank Accounts.

Union Bank of India cash deposit limit in ATM

According to the Union Bank website, “Cash Recycler Machine is capable of accepting and dispensing multiple notes simultaneously. CRMs accept a maximum 200 currency notes of Rs. 50,100, 500 and 2000 denominations per transaction and maximum value of Rs. 49999. On PAN card validation additional amount up to Rs.100000/- can be deposited per transaction. CRM impounds any counterfeit currency and such notes are not returned to the depositor. Cash deposit and withdrawal is allowed to NFS member bank cardholders by CRM. Cash withdrawal feature is similar to ATM in CRMs.”

Bank of Baroda cash deposit limit in ATM

Cash deposit with debit card up to Rs.2,00,000/- (2 Lacs) per day where PAN is registered and Rs.49,999/- where PAN is not registered in account. Card less transaction (by feeding account number) up to Rs. 20,000/- per day.

PNB cash deposit limit in ATM

PNB Cash Acceptor cum ATM or Bulk Note Acceptor is a highly efficient multi-function kiosk, meant for accepting cash for deposit in the account (for PNB only) as well as dispensation of cash and all other ATM functions. Denominations of 500, 200 & 100 are accepted. The maximum amount per transaction that can be deposited by a customer through this CAA/BNA is Rs. 1,00,000/- or total 200 notes. If PAN number is captured in the customer account Rs. 1,00,000/- can be deposited or Rs. 49,900/- in case PAN number is not captured in the account.

SBI ADWM Usage Tips :

  • Machine can be used for depositing and withdrawing cash.
  • Machine facilitates card-based OR card-less cash deposit and withdrawal transactions.
  • Cash should NOT be folded.
  • NO COINs to be placed in the cash slot.
  • PIN, Tape, thread, rubber band etc. must NOT be attached with cash, else machine will be out of order.
  • Cash should be free of moisture, oil, dust.
  • Acceptable cash denominations by machine: Rs 100 Rs 200 Rs 500
  • Maximum acceptable pieces of currency notes in a single deposit are 200 pieces.
  • If “Transaction Declined” is displayed by machine, it should not be used by the customer anymore.
  • Amount of Fake / counterfeit cash will NOT be credited in customer’s account.
