Bank Holidays in October 2024: During the month of October, banks are scheduled to remain closed for a total of 15 days due to both national and regional holidays. 

Customers are advised to schedule their bank-related errands and appointments in October keeping in mind the complete bank holiday given below. Due to the festivals lined up in the month including Saptami, Ashtami, and Dusshera, many regions in the country will see banks closed for atleast three to four days. Therefore, individuals should plan their financial errands around these holidays in advance to avoid any inconvenience.

The central bank, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) publishes the holiday list annually. These holidays are decided by the regulator based on festivals, regional celebrations, national holidays, and overall weekend holidays.

Generally, banks across the country are closed on all Sundays and weekend holidays like second and fourth Saturday. This list features festivals, national holidays, along with these leaves.

Banks shut down their physical branches for business during these holidays. However, customers can freely access digital banking services like UPI, mobile banking, internet banking, etc during these days. Any change or disruption in these services is informed to the customers well in advance.

The bank holiday calendar for the whole year is published by the RBI and this calendar is followed by banks across the country.
