The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued no heavy rainfall warnings for today, September 20. However, light to moderate rainfall is expected across various parts of the country over the next four to five days as the monsoon begins its retreat. A partly cloudy sky for the day is forecasted for Delhi, with temperatures expected to range between a maximum of 34 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 23 degrees Celsius.
Air quality in the national capital has also shown improvement in recent days due to intermittent showers. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi recorded an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 90 at 6:30 am, which falls in the ‘satisfactory’ category. Meanwhile, Karwar in Karnataka registered the lowest AQI of 22, indicating the cleanest air in the country, while Nandesari in Gujarat reported the highest AQI of 208.

Weather forecasts for other regions
Central India: The IMD forecasts “scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall” until September 26 in the region. Isolated heavy rainfall is likely in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh between September 23 and 25, with wet spells expected in Vidarbha on September 24 and 25.
East and Northeast India: Fairly widespread rainfall is expected in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and across East and Northeast India. The IMD has also predicted isolated heavy rainfall in Odisha on September 22 and 23 and over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura between September 22 and 25. Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya are likely to experience heavy rain between September 23 and 25.

Northwest India: Light to moderate rainfall is expected across the region until September 26.
West and South Peninsular India: Scattered light to moderate rainfall is forecast for Konkan, Goa, Marathwada, Rayalaseema, and parts of Karnataka, while Tamil Nadu and Puducherry are likely to experience hot and humid weather on September 20.
