IMD Weather Update: Isolated heavy rainfall is anticipated over the Andaman & Nicobar Islands until September 20, and in Assam and Meghalaya on September 19.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted isolated very heavy rainfall for Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan on Wednesday (September 18). Isolated heavy rainfall is anticipated over the Andaman & Nicobar Islands until September 20, and in Assam and Meghalaya on September 19. Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are also expected to experience similar conditions on September 18 and 19.

Additionally, fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall is predicted for Konkan and Goa, with isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall likely in the remaining regions during the week. A depression over Northeast Chhattisgarh and adjacent Jharkhand is expected to move nearly west-northwest, leading to heavy to very heavy rainfall in several parts of the country.
Widespread light to moderate rainfall is likely over the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, while isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall is expected across East and Northeast India throughout the week.

Delhi weather forecast
Weather officials have predicted light to moderate rainfall with occasional thunderstorms and lightning at several locations in Delhi and the NCR. The Regional meteorological department, New Delhi has also issued a yellow alert for the national capital for today. According to the IMD, temperatures are expected to range between a high of 32°C and a low of 23°C.

Yellow alert in Himachal
The local meteorological center has issued a ‘yellow’ alert for thunderstorms and lightning in isolated areas across six districts of the state on Wednesday. It also predicted a wet spell in the state till September 21. Tabo in Lahaul and Spiti recorded the lowest temperature at 6°C, while Neri experienced the highest at 34.9°C. As of September 17, the state has seen a 19% rainfall deficit for the current monsoon season, receiving 565.9 mm of rain compared to the average of 695 mm.
Heavy showers to continue in UP
The IMD has forecasted isolated light rainfall in Uttar Pradesh over the next five days, with isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall expected across the rest of the region throughout the week. The report also indicates that the Ganga River is flowing above the danger mark at Kachhla Bridge (Budaun), Ghazipur, Ballia, and Fatehgarh, while the Ghaghra River is above the danger level at Elgin Bridge (Barabanki), Turtipar (Ballia), and Ayodhya.
