Traffic disruptions are expected in various parts of Delhi on Monday (September 16) due to processions held for Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, the police announced in an advisory. This occasion commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammad.
Traffic restriction in Central Delhi
In central Delhi, the 11 am procession will travel from Bara Hindu Rao to Chowk Jama Masjid, passing through Pahari Dhiraj, Chowk Bara Tooti, Sadar Bazar, Qutub Road, Lahori Gate, Khari Baoli, Masjid Fatehpuri, Katra Bariyan, Farash Khana, Lal Kuan, Chowk Hauz Qazi, Chawri Bazar, and ending at Chowk Jama Masjid.
The advisory noted that heavy traffic is anticipated on Rani Jhansi Road, Chandni Chowk Road, Bara Hindu Rao Road, SPM Marg, Khari Baoli Marg, Hare Ram Marg, Chawri Bazar Road, Jama Masjid Road, and other nearby roads.
Traffic will be restricted on several routes including Bara Hindu Rao Marg, Maharaja Agrasen Marg, Qutub Road, Hare Ram Marg, Swami Vivekanand Marg, Katra Baryan Road, Lal Kuan Bazar Road, Hamdard Road, and Chawri Bazar, among others.

Traffic to be affected in Northwest Delhi
In northwest Delhi, a procession will take place from 7 am to 2 pm, starting at Madarsa Nizamia E Block near Samrat Cinema, Shakurpur. Another procession in south Delhi will run from 10 am to 12 pm, departing from Pare Wali Masjid in Ambedkar Colony, Chhatarpur, and proceeding to Dargah Hazrat Khwaja Bakhtiyar Kaki Mehrauli via Andheria Mod, MG Road, Kalka Das Marg, and Mehrauli.

East Delhi traffic advisory
In east Delhi, processions will begin at 27 Block Trilok Puri bus stand and travel through various locations including Mayur Vihar, Karbala Kotla Village, Gurjar Bhawan, and Acharya Niketan Road.
Other areas of the national capital will also experience processions, leading to further traffic impacts. Commuters are advised to avoid these routes, allow extra travel time to accommodate potential delays, and consider using public transport. Parking should be restricted to designated areas, and any suspicious activity should be reported to the police.
