Weather: Isolated heavy rainfall is likely over Chhattisgarh for the next seven days, Madhya Maharashtra and Konkan and Goa until September 10, and Kerala and Mahe until September 11
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced that the monsoon trough is active, with its western and eastern ends near their normal positions, significantly influencing rainfall distribution across the country. According to the IMD, several states are expected to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall in the coming days. Isolated heavy rainfall is likely over Chhattisgarh for the next seven days, Madhya Maharashtra and Konkan and Goa until September 10, and Kerala and Mahe until September 11. Additionally, isolated heavy rainfall is predicted for Konkan and Goa on September 11.

Weather Forecast for Delhi
In Delhi, the IMD forecasts a generally cloudy sky on Tuesday with light rain. The temperature in the capital is expected to range between a maximum of 34°C and a minimum of 26°C.

Deep Depression Weakens and Moves Inland
The IMD also reported that the deep depression over interior Odisha has weakened into a depression and is expected to move across north Chhattisgarh, further weakening into a well-marked low-pressure area by the evening of September 10. The system, which made landfall near Puri in Odisha, has prompted the state government to mobilize resources for relief and rescue operations in the affected districts.
Red Alert Issued for Affected Districts
Manorama Mohanty, Director of the Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar, stated that the landfall process took place between 10:30 am and 11:30 am, with wind speeds ranging from 55 km/h to 65 km/h. The IMD has issued a red alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall (7-20 cm) until 8:30 am on Tuesday for ten districts: Ganjam, Kalahandi, Nayagarh, Khurda, Bolangir, Boudh, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, and Puri. Heavy rainfall is also forecasted for isolated places in Cuttack, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, and Sonepur. Fishermen have been advised to avoid venturing into the sea until September 11 due to the adverse weather conditions.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has instructed Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari and senior officials to oversee and assist with relief measures in the affected districts.
