According to officials, the victim, Constable Gauri Subhash Patil, was admitted to the Axis Hospital in Lokhandwala in the suburban Andheri West and was scheduled to undergo an ear surgery. Patil, 28, was administered anaesthesia ahead of her surgery on Thursday night but developed complications and died shortly after.
Patil , 28. was posted with the local arms division of the Mumbai police at Marol in Andheri.
A senior official said the police received information about the constable’s death at around 10:45 PM on Thursday night, adding that the body has been sent for post-mortem analysis to ascertain the cause of death.
