How to apply for EPF monthly pension online using form 10D

If you’re a member of the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) and are looking to apply for a monthly pension, you’ll need to complete Form 10D.

This form, provided by the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), is crucial for claiming a pension under the Employees’ Pension Scheme (EPS) 1995.

It must be filled out by the primary claimant, which could be the member themselves, a widow or widower, an orphan, a nominee, or other eligible individuals.

To avoid delays, it is essential to submit all necessary paperwork accurately. To access Form 10D online, applicants must ensure their account has e-nomination, is KYC compliant, and that their Universal Account Number (UAN) is updated with correct information.

Types of pension available

Form 10D is used to apply for different types of pensions under the EPS 95 scheme. You need to specify the type of pension you are claiming. The options include:

  • Superannuation pension: For members who retire at the age of 58, whether they are still employed or not.
  • Reduced pension: For members who retire between the ages of 50 and 58 after leaving their job.
  • Disablement pension: For members who leave their job due to total and permanent disability.
  • Widow and Children pension: For the family (spouse and children) after the death of the member.
  • Orphan pension: For surviving children (up to 25 years old) after the death or remarriage of the deceased member.
  • Nominee pension: For a nominee declared in Form 2(R) in case the member had no family.
  • Dependent Parent pension: For dependent parents of the deceased member who had no family and did not nominate anyone for a pension.

Documents required for Form 10D

  • Aadhaar cards
  • Three attested passport-sized photos of the spouse
  • Bank passbook with the member’s name printed, along with a cheque for offline submissions

How to Apply for Pension Using Form 10D Online

Follow these steps to apply for your EPF pension online:

  • Visit the EPFO website
  • Under the ‘Services’ section, select ‘For Employees.’
  • Scroll down and click on ‘Online Services.’
  • Log in to the Unified Member e-Seva portal using your Universal Account Number (UAN) and password.
  • Click on ‘Online Services’ and select Form 10D from the available options.
  • Verify your bank account details.
  • Tick the box to accept the terms and conditions.
  • Proceed with the online claim.
  • Verify the details of your family members, such as their names.
  • Upload a file containing your bank passbook with your name printed.
  • Check the uploaded details and request an OTP sent to your Aadhaar registered mobile number.
  • Enter the OTP received to submit the form.
